Case Study: AFOD
Since May of 2007, Matt and Dave have been working for the Canadian Government as part of a team developing a distributed learning framework for the Air Force Officer Development course. Initially, we were responsible for restructuring the course, and have continued adapting to new content and rebuilding existing aspects to make it cleaner and more dynamic.
Specifically, this involved creating a simple content management system to consolidate numerous groups of pages into a single page that is dynamically created for each individual module. This was accomplished with a set of shared functions and elements which deliver different content and styles based on JSON data which is passed to a master page. This way, it is possible to build new modules without copying any actual HTML code. Instead, we modify it dynamically with javascript.
